2. S. Studies - Answer the Question that relates to the painting on page 134 of the text. Find two aspects that show the European influence and two aspects that show the Indian influence.

3. Review your Grammar. The test has been delayed till tomorrow. Therefore, that gives you another opportunity to sharpen your skills.


p.s You were all given you averages in all subject areas. Some of you are performing poorly as in below the 75% passing mark especially in Religion, Science, and Social Studies. The term has about 4 weeks left in it. Be sure that you prioritize accordingly before the rush and excitement of the Christmas season arrives.

3. Religion - Illustrate the role of sex as it pertains to intimacy, reproduction, and Sexually transmitted diseases. Be as artistic as possible. Be ready to explain your illustration to the class.

4. Research - Students who did not present today will do so tomorrow. Take the time off to fine tune your presentations and make changes if necessary. Students who " forgot " their drafts home today please not that if they are not in tomorrow you will recieve an F.

4. Writing - summarise the presentation on crime and punishment. Include you own thoughts on the subject of crime and the criminal justice system. Is it fair? should the death penalty be legal? does it really deter crime? What are out alternatives.

Here is the outline for your next research paper:

Crime and Punishment Assignment – Grade 7
Mr. Thomas.
You are being asked to write a research report about one of the following:

1. Research the history of crime and the criminal justice system. Examine crime and punishment from a historical and a contemporary (modern) standpoint.
or
2. Research a famous crime and the issuance of justice related to that crime. Include the details of that crime leading up to the punishment.


Introduction – introduce paper; tell what your report will focus on/cover.
History of Crime and Punishment over the ages; or Background into the crime that you chose to examine.
Contemporary Attitudes towards the fairness of the criminal justice system. Flaws within the system; or Details of the trial and punishment of the crime/criminal that you chose to examine.
Conclusion – Reactions and Feedback.

The assignment must follow the steps that have been discussed, for example, note taking, outline, first draft, and final copy. The assignment must also include a cover, as well as a bibliography. The final Paper is Due December 4th. Check the schedule for due dates of the Presentation and the DRAFT. See the attached grading criteria. DO NOT COPY MATERIAL FROM YOUR SOURCE OF INFORMATION!!!! You must include a Bibliography and Cover page.

Nov 15, 16 and 17

The students were introduced to the assignment. They looked at a power point presentation and discussed crime, the law, and the notion of Justice. They will receive a handout with the outline of the assignment and the due dates.


Nov 20, 21

Outlines are due. Outlines must discuss what part of the assignment the student will cover and include details for each paragraph.

Nov 27

Presentations are due. Students will also hand in Drafts.

NOV 28-29

Students receive feedback from draft and meet with teacher for conferences to discuss final changes to paper.

DEC 4

Final Papers are due.
